30th January 2014 – London, UK: UK pro-audio distributor Sound Network will be showing a number of new products on its BVE 2014 stand (L45), including the d:dicate™ Series MMP-F Modular Active Boom microphone from renowned Danish microphone manufacturer DPA.

Intended for use with the d:dicate MMC4011 Cardioid and MMC4018 Supercardioid mics and other 2000- and 4000-series capsules for podium, floor stand or hanging applications, the MMP-F relies on the same technology as the company’s MMP-E active cable. Equipped with an active boom pole preamp, the MMP-F is available in a variety of lengths and gooseneck options. It fits to any modular d:dicate capsule and offers excellent radio frequency rejection, which is obtained through the DPA-designed impedance balancing with active drive.

The MMP-F Booms are available in 15-, 30- and 45-cm hanging / table / podium options and as 75- and 120-cm floor stand choices. In addition to the MMC4011 and MMC4018, the d:dicate range also includes the MMC4007 High-SPL Omnidirectional Capsule and microphones from the familiar and well-loved DPA Reference Standard series, including the modular 4000 and 2000 Series.

As well as the d:dicate™ MMP-F booms, the Danish manufacturer has also released a range of d:screet™ SC4098 Supercardioid Podium Microphones equipped with their highly-acclaimed miniature capsules. These d:screet SC4098 podium mics carry sleek design and offer incredible off-axis attenuation and flat response. Find out more about the d:screet™ SC4098 here.

Sound Network will also be showing DPA’s new d:fine™ 66 and d:fine 88 Miniature Headset Microphones, which were unveiled in January at NAMM 2014. These new products join the original d:fine as well as the traditional 4066 and 4088 Miniature Headset Microphones under the company’s d:fine Headset Microphone family. With a contemporary look and feel, the new DPA d:fine 88 Directional Headset Microphone and d:fine 66 Omnidirectional Headset Microphone will carry on the sound capabilities of the microphone capsules from the classic 4066 and 4088, and the features of the modern d:fine mechanics, such as an advanced headset mount and flexible ear hooks.

“Now featuring a total of four capsules, two omni’s and two cardioids, and three headset mounts, single-ear, dual-ear and personalized mount, DPA’s d:fine Headset Microphones Series offers something for every user and environment,” says Sound Network’s Director Ralph Dunlop. “Recognisable by the rounded capsule/housing of the 4066/4088 predecessors, these new additions to the d:fine range are ideal for actors, musicians and singers who require optimal sound and grid cleaning/changing options.”

Dunlop adds that the original d:fine Headsets, which are recognised by their low-profile flat microphone head, are perfect for presenters, speakers or hosts who require minimal visual impact, while the classic 4066 and 4088 are for users who prefer a more personal fit to the headset mount.

Sound Network will complete its BVE 2014 line-up with other microphones from the DPA range, including the increasingly popular d:facto™ II Vocal Microphone. The distributor will also be showing products from other companies that it represents in the UK, including Bubblebee Industries, which makes a comprehensive range of high-quality microphone windshields for field recording, and Linear Acoustic, makers of digital broadcast audio control products.
