We were recently contacted by Ed Peczek, a classical guitarist who hails from the UK, with regard to his experience with his DPA d:vote 4099G Guitar Microphone. Ed is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has since appeared at numerous high-level events UK-wide and played for audiences including Queen Elizabeth II.
He was more than happy to share his thoughts on the DPA guitar mic:
The d:vote 4099G replicates the sound of my guitar like no other microphone I’ve ever tried before. Until I found DPA I was constantly frustrated with the sound quality whenever I played live. I was relying on various piezo pickups, preamps and other bits of kit; all adding unwanted bulk and complexity to my live set up. The aesthetics of my performance set up is important to me because I often have to perform in tight spaces or in settings where presentation is important (wedding ceremonies etc). Lugging along a rack full of equipment and a mess of cables just isn’t an option. All I need now is my DPA microphone, guitar and amplifier whenever I perform. It’s so simple and sounds phenomenal.
