We are very pleased to announce our new partnership with Meris as the UK and European* Distributor for Meris studio products.
An exciting new high-end studio electronics company based in L.A., California, Meris was established by Terry Burton, the hardware and software engineer who previously founded guitar effects company Strymon in 2008. Also joining Meris are Angelo Mazzocco, previously Line 6’s top choice DSP Engineer to the stars (Van Halen, The Edge and Dweezil Zappa to name but a few…) and Creative Director Jinna Kim hailing from L.A.’s leading design studios and who previously created the brand identity for Strymon.
Meris’s debut product is the 440 Mic Pre; an innovative 500-Series module with an effects loop optimised for guitar pedals. The unit was designed as the ultimate mic pre for recording guitar, delivering classic American tone with its legendary Cinemag input/output transformers and the added advantage of an integral in/out effects loop, ideal for delivering distortion-free audio to effects pedals. The Meris 440, not limited to guitar, performs just as well on vocals and other instruments, delivering warm, open tone reminiscent of the time-honoured API 312 preamps.
We’re extremely excited to be partnered with the Sound Network team. They have exactly the expertise and style we were looking for in an UK/EU distributor. I’m confident they will do a fantastic job expanding our EU presence and growing with us, Meris Founder, Terry Burton says.
Ralph Dunlop, Sound Network Director adds: “We have been looking for an interesting high quality brand to complement DPA Microphones and our other products for some time now. Terry Burton is a great designer with the ability to look at audio applications from left field and produce high quality products at the right price. We are looking for a long term, evolving relationship to nurture and grow the Meris brand as new and innovative products develop. I have a feeling that all Meris products will always have that little something extra, borne out of their impressive knowledge and close communication with the end user. The 440 is anything but run-of-the-mill.”
The Meris 440 Mic Pre will be available from October through specially selected pro audio and guitar resellers in the UK and EU, with a list price of £419 (€529), offering exceptional value for money for this high end mic preamp designed and built in Los Angeles, California.
