DPA 2006A Twin Diaphragm Omnidirectional Pencil Microphone

The DPA 2006A Twin Diaphragm Omnidirectional Pencil Microphone features DPA’s superb linear omnidirectional MMC2006 mic capsule on the studio grade MMP-A pre-amp.

The 2006A condenser mic bridges the gap between the extreme sound quality of the Microphones series and our well-known Miniature Microphones in the Lavalier and Headset series, creating a DPA studio mic that is as good quality without the hefty price tag.

Product Description

Inside the 2006A‘s capsule, two opposite-facing miniature omni capsules are custom rebuilt by being assembled into a double-diaphragm, one-capsule composition. This combines the advantages of small capsules with the lower inherent noise achieved from a larger diaphragm area. These capsules provide incredibly fast impulse response and wide frequency bandwidth.

The capsules benefit from the supreme quality of DPA’s Pencil Microphone series preamplifiers instead of the usual miniature FET pres. This gives the mic much more headroom and the sound more air and precision.

Comparisons with its big brother, the iconic 4006 capsule, are inevitable. The relationship between the two can be clearly heard. The MMC2000 series performs as well as more exclusive microphones. It is a premium-class mic capsule and redefines the term “value for money” in studio recording mics.

The 2006A Omni Mic features:

  • Acoustic authenticity
  • Linear in a large frequency bandwidth
  • Twin-Diaphragm-Capsule technology
  • Modular flexibility
