DPA 4006A Omnidirectional Pencil Microphone

The DPA 4006A Omnidirectional Pencil Microphone has become the professional industry-standard for recording acoustic instruments, piano, drum overheads and orchestras, and is often also used for recording vocals.

Previously known as the DPA 4006 and then the DPA 4006-TL (4006-TL stood for Transformer-Less), the 4006A is now part of the modular capsule system and can be interfaced with either the standard, compact or filtered pre-amps.

Product Description

The DPA 4006A Omnidirectional Pencil Microphone’s versatility and sonic fidelity is unsurpassed, complemented by a number of interchangeable acoustic attachments available for modifying the microphones pick up characteristics.

Being an omni microphone there is no proximity effect with the 4006A, so you can get as close as you like without any bass lift – this gives a very intimate sound without the boominess displayed by cardioid microphones.

The DPA 4006A, as with its predecessor the 4006-TL, comes with a DD0251 free field grid, a DD0254 close miking grid, a DD0297 diffuse field grid, microphone clip, windshield and it’s own individual calibration chart. With the addition of a further 4 acoustic attachments (UA0777, L50B, L40B, L30B) available, the result is a microphone with 7 different pick up patterns to ensure perfect linearity in every situation.

All DPA 4000 series Pencil microphones come with a 5 year warranty.
