The DPA d:facto™ Vocal microphone is designed to bring studio-quality sound to the stage without any of the problems studio microphones can usually suffer from in this demanding environment. Using experience gained from building the award-winning DPA 4018 Supercardioid capsule, DPA has tailored the d:facto™’s capsule to give a far more directional pick-up pattern, excellent rejection of feedback and off axis neutrality and attenuation.
The d:facto™ Vocal is designed specifically to give engineers the power of excellent studio quality sound in almost any environment, and its amazing capsule speaks for itself. The d:facto™ 4018VL capsule blows the competition out of the water with its excellent off-axis rejection, and spill that does enter the capsule sounds totally natural thanks to its directional capsule technology. The d:facto’s handling noise has been reduced to virtually null thanks to its innovative capsule mounting system which includes shock absorption between the handle and the capsule. The d:facto™ 4018VL capsule takes the amazing sound of the 4018V capsule and flattens the frequency response out to a near straight line. This helps with any harsh foldback on stage and suits some voices over the 4018V.
The d:facto™ Vocal capsule is suspended in a pop-proof housing to optimise handling noise. As well as it’s excellent full-bandwidth frequency response, the d:facto™ is capable of handling sound pressure levels up to 160dB before clipping. This is definitely not your average vocal microphone and must be heard to be believed.
