Quested Q212FS Free Standing System

The Q212FS Systems design is based on one of our most popular and iconic soffit mounted systems. The system has been adapted to allow for the Q212 element to sit on top of the QSB118 sub-bass and be at a perfect height for most work stations with the acoustic center at approximately 1.4m. I have used Quested speakers from about 1986. Roger actually rebuilt my studio in London. I’ve used his speakers ever since. When I moved to L.A., he again helped me design our studios. I think we have something like 40 pairs of his speakers here at Remote Control Productions. Sometimes I get tempted to try something new, but, within a short time, we’re back mixing with The Man’s speakers. 150 movies later, still no complaints!

The radial chassis primary role is to reduce the effects of thermal compression at the voice coil when operating at high SPL’s whilst also looking dam cool. The custom soft-dome 3” mid-driver couples perfectly to the soft-dome HF driver delivering a smooth, powerful and accurate response. The QSB118FS is designed to operate as a true subwoofer with extension to below 20Hz and again employs radial chassis technology to reduce the effects of thermal compression the drive may experience when operating at high output volume.
